I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
